In Norse mythology, Jormungandr was a serpent that slept in the ocean, and was so large that it wrapped itself around the world and bit its own tail. The killer of Thor. c: ♥

That one in the picture is actually quite stunning. Love the armor like styling on the upper body and head. And the scaling of the tail! (I'm a bit of a sucker for great character designs and this kind of got my inspiration flowing...)

I'm not sure about favourite, but I do think the Furies/Erinyes and Kirin interesting...but I guess I love Unicorns excessively-

Had to google Erinyes and now I just might have to add them to my this years nano story... they sound way too cool! Both Kirins and unicorns are really beautiful creatures. :3

I have some interest in Rakshasas because of something that I read in a book... I like dragons, birds and stuff like that, too but I wanted to include something different.

I like lots of different mythical creatures, but I've recently been on a Finnish mythology kick so I'm going to say menninkäinen! It's kind of the Finnish equivalent of a gnome or leprechaun.
